Behold!

I picked up a Rocktron Nitro (clean booster) and a Boss BD-2 off of our very own RGT. He tossed in some extra stuff too - that's a handful of Jazz III picks (which just happen to be the ones I use, that NOBODY here carries - SCORE!)... A HOSA pedal jumper cable (  Shocked holy smokes expensive cables batman! ), a smith & wesson knife (also the brand of knife I happen to carry every day - I carry a S&W SWAT first millenium run knife), and the world's smallest bottle of Tobasco.

I ordered this stuff from RGT on Friday morning ... the mail doesn't run in the states on Sundays, and Monday was a holiday; I got it today, tuesday!  Shocked Everything arrived well packed and in every bit as good of shape as he described. (When this boy says "LNIB", he ain't lying!) Everything plugged up and ran just fine off my OneSpot power adapter. I think it all makes a wonderful addition to my pedal lineup, and goes a LONG way to finally getting the range of tones I've been searching for out of that Behringer GMX212 of mine:

Now I'm doing guitar -> nitro booster -> blues driver -> metalzone -> amp -> (effects send) -> crybaby -> chorus -> (effects return) -> amp ... and I'm able to get SOOOOOO much more variety now!

I could not be more pleased. RGT is an awesome dude to do business with. I won't say what kind of deal I got cut, but suffice to say I got pedals that were honestly LNIB, for a price that would've gotten me thrown in jail at retail. RGT is definitely a straight shooter, don't be afraid to do business w/ him.

Aside from the BD-2's OBVIOUS blues talents ... After messing around for a little bit, I'm inclined to sell the MT-2 and just get another BD-2, and keep that one set for a heavier overdrive. Combined with the high gain british settings on my amp, the BD-2 can *REALLY* crunch!! It doesn't get super harsh like the MT-2 does, and it still has excellent note definition at higher gain settings. VERY impressed with this pedal.

The rocktron booster, similarly, is awesome. Amp modeling ( + maybe pedal ) = rhythm tone ... + booster = OMFG HERE COME THE LEADS

Very clever way to disguise your nail polish AK. Tongue

Yeah I agree with the MT-2 thing.  I loved mine for a while, but became disgusted with it after finding my Fulltone GT-500.

RGT is indeed a great dealer!

I can safely recommend him to anyone.

Did RGT send you the "nail polish" as a freebie? That is made in LA and one of my favorites. I buy the big nail polish bottle.

Yeah it was in the yellow envelope. I'll most likely leave it unopened and use it somewhere for decoration, as I grow jalapenos in my garden for spice. I let them hang on the vine til they're half black, and boy do they light me up.

It really is. The very few reviews of the Nitro I could find online said "you'll never need to go past 11 o'clock", and they're right - man can that pedal get loud!  Shocked I'd probably wind up moving it to the end of the effects loop when playing live or with a drummer, 'cause my clean channels are super-duper quiet.

Disgusted is a good way to describe it. Honestly the BD-2 gets better metal overdrive; I've got mine setup very similar to a tube screamer right now. Throw that on top of my fender modeling channel, and I've got a good singing blues overdrive. Throw it on top of my Marshall modeling channel, and I've ALMOST got classic Thrash Metal crunch - the only problem is that it's still a bit lightweight compared to the MT-2. But turning the MT-2 on instead, I hear all the hiss, the screeching, AAAGH sounds like crap now.

(edit:) And then I see guys like THIS who make the metalzone sound just fine (tho it's still a bit harsh, you'll never be able to get away from that w/o modding it) ... I don't get it!

Maybe I should mod it, I hear alot of the harshness goes away w/ a good mod ... and I'm $90 into the damned thing, so I might as well

Thanks AK, I appreciate it!  I'm glad you're going to make such fine use of the pedals.  Maybe one day you can be cured of your MT-2 addiction  Grin

Yeah at this point I'm at the Methadone stage - I'm not addicted to the MT-2, but I'm gonna have a hard time finding someone to get rid of it. So I'm stuck with it for now, might as well make the best of it Tongue

Methadone ... kickass name for some kinda pedal, actually. I could build a new line of pedals and name them after narcotics. The methadone octaver, the amphetamine distortion, the heroine phaser/rotater, the speed uber-distortion, the ....

... yeah some ideas aren't as good as others
