here's my pick, cost 10 aussie cents each, and they'll pretty much never wear out... not entirely sure what they're made from, i think nickel, but it works for me =p

yes... i realise this might be taking the Brian May die hard fan thing a bit too far, but since i started using a coin, i've found them to be much easier to hold and play with than a plastic pick, at least i'm not trying to be like Brian May anymore but instead trying to create my own sounds and stuff with a bit of Brian influence Tongue

Dunno, maybe if you file it to have a pick shape.

lol, i dunno if that would be legal or classed as "defacing currency"...

No matter how hard you work to earn it, it's still government property.

Now actually playing with a coin will give you a "different" Tone ... We're using a Mexican Peso now (round, un filed) .... pretty nice really... easy to nail ZZT tone...Just takes a couple minutes to get used to , and the smooth round edge works well for speed picking  ..  Try it !!!
   " Is Good !!!" Grin

Hint , using the rounded edge of any pick , instead of the pointy bit, will give you a better SRV tone ...  Trick we picked up from a SRV "clone' who just had it down pat... Wink

Hey GPW, ever tried one of these? They're both sharp and round edged. I might buy one when I want to experiment again, jazz III suits me fine till now. Sidenote - did anyone try the XL ones yet? or does that totally diminish the whole purpose of the jazzIII's?

Anyways these picks should be nice because you dont have to file your own 10 dollarcents now Tongue (though this one costs around 8 bucks...
Sorry big immage..

Seems the immage is not working correctly at my screen, if its the same @ yours, check out this link.. http://www.thomann.de/nl/v_picks_screamer.htm

i use the fender med hvy and the hvy, also the dunlop clear yellow and red sometimes. i'm not that "picky" if you'll pardon the pun.  however, for those of you that may find yourself in a tight spot, and you somehow forgot to bring fresh picks to a jam.  maybe you have one lyin around that's a little rounded off?
did you know you can sharpen them by rubbin them on the carpet? works pretty good, in a pinch.

For less 'clicking', try turning the pick at more of an angle. How do I explain which axis? First turn it to a right angle to the strings. If you chose the wrong axis, strumming is now impossible.

Correct. I would go as far as saying that different materials make a big difference in sound.
