Pff, no chance. Bender, zoidberg and  brannigan are the best ones. Bender is probably the greatest fictional character ever created.

I was trying to give one of the lesser characters a heads up.  Tongue Scruffy gets no respect.

But yeah, those three are epic. The greatest fictional character ever? Nah. Up there? Yeah.

Eh, scruffy was pretty one dimensional. I really dug all the decapodians.

Scruffy was one-dimensional but he was a good running gag. I pretty much agree with James on this one Zoidberg, Brannigan and Bender

Scruffy is supposed to be rather one dimensional. Have you ever noticed that no matter how many times the other characters meet him they still have to ask who he is?

If his character was expanded too much it would kill the gag. His role is self limiting.

Has he ever had a major part in any episode?

the one where fry finds his dog from the 20th C mummified remains, and gets the professor to revive him. But decides not to when he finds out the dog lived for some time after he had disappeared, and would have moved on.

But turns out the dog just waited for him all that time  Cry

'Jurassic Bark' was a masterpiece. Seymour was a picture of selfless devotion.

Good stories don't always have a happy ending.

Edit: And what about Fry's unrequited love for Leela? I don't know about y'all, but that tears my heart. But he never gives up hope.

Is Seymour a hint at what could be in store for Fry?
