 Facepalm

At first I was thinking it wasnt that dumb. A little over the top, but really not a big insult.

Then I saw the prices. Facepalm

$54 for a truss rod cover Huh

$115 for 2 capacitors? Its not like they are rare NOS capacitors either, just recreations.

I think Facepalm sums it up well.

Dude, I Loved Gibsons till these A-Ho's took over ...  Been playing them for close to 50 years ... Shocked  They used to be Fine guitars (pre Nashville) ...  Now it seems all the Quality Control/Materials money goes into advertising and propaganda... Facepalm    They fired all the Luthiers (Kalamazoo) and hired unemployed furniture makers ... WTF?   GREED !!!

Only thing I can think of for such Greed is Henry must have a High Maintenance wife or girlfriend (or boyfriend)  with a perfect T to A ratio...  ROTF ROTF ROTF Facepalm

^I think hes figured it out. Grin

But seriously, how hard is it for them to build guitars? You can get a luthier to build a one off custom guitar for a similar price to some of there nicer production line models.

I struggle to believe they have more than $500 invested (including pay for the guys on the line) in even the tippy top of the line models.

Gibson is reacting (a few years late) the the vintage replica  parts aftermarket that has sprung up around the world.  Guys buy a $7000 les Paul, then spen another 3 grand 'making it right' including 50 dollar switch tips, 60 dollar truss rod covers, and pickup rings that cost more than most pickups you can name.  Comical.  And the sad truth: none of theese products improve the tone or playability of the guitar (except maybe the caps, which can be had for pennies IF you know where to shop)  The Gibson ones are not even the right stuff, but are painted to look like the right stuff.....geez  Facepalm

What's the old saying?  Oh yeah..."A fool and his money..."

if you told me, to my face, that i had to pay more than 250 bucks for a single humbucker, i would punch you in the face, repeatedly, and as hard as humanly possible.
