G'day everyone.

I'm the proud owner of the above mentioned guitar which I purchased new about 10-12 years ago. It's an awesome guitar to play and is still in great condition.
I've been trying to learn a bit more about the history of Shadow guitars and where my baby fits in but there doesn't seem to be much info out there at all.  I can't even work out what series my guitar is or when it was likely to have been made. I know it was on the shelf at the music store quite a while...
Unlinke many other Shadow's I've found pictures of, mine does not have a serial number or any other markings on the neck plate (is that what they are called?).
I was hoping there might be a fan of these guitars or guitar history buff that might be able to enlighten me or steer me in the right direction.

Cheers,
Jim

Some pics... Looks better with strings! More fun too...

That is indeed a sweet looking guitar there. I read your post and also become interested in these Shadow guitars, so I did as much research as I could... There is almost no information out there about these guitars... The only thing I could find out is that they were a guitar company from Germany from 1987 to 1994. Most of there guitars are fitted with Schaller machine heads and Schaller double locking Floyd Rose tremolo systems, two Shadow single coil pickups, one Shadow humbucker. Joe maranic was the founder of Shadow guitars. From '87 - '90 there bodies and necks were made in Italy and assembled in Germany, during that period they also made parts for Ibanez and Ovation guitars. From '90 to '94 there whole production was moved to Germany. The "S" series Pacers were assembled at Jolana in 1990, commissioned by Kramer BEFORE the bankruptcy. Built with the same specs and parallel to the G-series American guitars. OK heres what I think you are looking for "THE UN-SERIALIZED PACERS" probably assembled at Jolana. Commissioned by unknown AFTER the bankruptcy in 1991 (possibly commissioned by Schaller, even if current management at Schaller denies it). Completely different specs compared to the American guitars (Schaller Floyd, Schaller pickups, short trem route).

Thats what my research found me, even though I couldent answer your question directly, at least your thread goes back to the top  Tongue

Note: all of the information I just shared was done through research, taken from the guitar forum: "KramerForum" none of it was my own knowledge. Hope that helps you out or at least gets you started.

Thanks heaps for the thoughtful reply. You definately filled a few holes in what I know so far about my guitar and the Shadow company.
I'm resigned to the fact I probably wont find much more information than this.

I'll just enjoy playing it.  Cool

Cheers,
Jim
