After much searching , finally found my "dream strat"    with that Jimi/ SRV Tone...      Basswood body, maple neck , texas specials (reversed)    Wired like a 2 pup guitar , with a little switch to add the middle pup ...  5.5 lbs ... Light ...

The funny part is I had it all the time ....  Shocked Facepalm  Embarrassed  Built several years back , never finished it , just stuck it in the corner at Vinney's and forgot about it .... The other day I spied it under a layer of dust and looking for something to do , finished it ....    Whoa !!!  The Tone !!!    Dripping with mids ...  Quacks like a duck ...   played some Jimi and SRV stuff at practice... nailed the tone ....
I'm so Happy I could  (your word here) ...   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

on the other hand , Now I feel like the Village Idiot for not finishing it in the first place... Duh !!!   Embarrassed Tongue

Dude, that is one freakin bad-a$$ 24-fret S!  Rawk2  The flame on the neck is sex and I love the hand carved headstock. The tuning keys look vintage.   What's going on around the bridge P/U?  Looks like wires are exposed Huh

Moral of the story:

Always be sure to look in the corner, under the busted, dusty, broken stuff, before heading off to GC with wallet in hand.  Rawk1

Yeah, if there isn't a cool guitar under there, you never know there's not an old jeans with 500$ stuffed in one of the pockets.  Grin

That has to be the coolest headstock design I have ever seen.

I have been GAS'ing for a fat Jimi strat lately. So far I think the key components for that sound are reverse bridge pickup, texas specials, reverse headstock...oh and talent. Gotta get on that...
