What's the difference? Well, obviously the cut out part but is there much of a sound difference? Or is it just for looks?

cutaways are usually for easier access to the higher frets.

tone-wise, there is a difference, but not many would feel it's significant if they notice it at all.

dreadnoughts and cutaways aren't the only acoustic shapes, either. there's a world of variation with different tonal qualities - definitely worth spending some time at your local shop to experiment.
