I would dress the fin up like a '57 Chevy, and paint the rest red.

Reminiscent of the old Ovation 'Breadwinner':

which has always been a favorite of mine.

Steve Klein's electrics lean into this area as well:

But i think you've got 'em beat due to that notch there for the leg rest...

Very cool--I'm looking forward to trying out this baby next trip down to Nawlins...

BT ... played an Ovation BW years ago ...got to play a Klein  too ...   Nice as they were they just didn't "sit" right... for me anyway ... Which led to the Lobster series ... then this ... This "seems" to be the most comfortable ...  gotta' get it finished and drag it to the gig before I make any final judgements ...  Been rasping and shaping away for hours now (shagged out ) , but it's looking good at least ...  Doing Lots of rounding and smoothing ... thinned the "wing" so its a smooth fit between the arm and belly ...  Hand tools .... AARGH !!!   Tongue   I'll get some pics up as soon as I have the energy to move...  Facepalm

Come on down ... try em' all !!!     Rawk1   Got lots of amps for you to try out too...  I'll put the coffee  on !!!   Cool

How about something simple , like antique white with a TS pickguard Huh   This one is just a prototype , If it works out as planned (really comfortable), I'll get NOGC to run out a few more bodies on the CNC so I can experiment with more pup combinations , and perhaps a prototype NOGC whammy , which coincidentally fits a LP too...  One with single coils , one with 2 Humpups, and of course one with P-90s ... H-S-H too..     Never enough guitars eh ?? ... Rawk1 Wink

I agree, antique white is good for this.

I think vintge Fender colors would look good on it. I actually see it in that "surf aquamarine" color, myself.

I agree with all of this.

Nice. FWIW, I think it's far prettier than the Ovation Breadwinner. I like how the tail evokes a 1950's car, yet the guitar still looks modern. I think you could exploit that retro-yet-modern thing nicely with a Fender type color (surf green, daphe blue, antique white). But really any color will look good.

What materials are you working with here? Is that oak I see in the core? Details!

I like the guitar's shape very much, but I am not too crazy about the headstock. Maybe a V-ish headstock would have gone better with that body shape. but that is just me, a lot of folks here seem to like the guitar just the way it is. anyway, +1 for a nice and practical body shape.

Thanks Guys ...   I agree about painting it a retro color ..that would be Cool ... This is just a prototype for possible further production , so the body is made with a center core of Mahogany , and the wings are of #1 Pine (shop scraps) ... The neck is just a stock Strat neck ( actually a Mity Mite Blem neck I got for 20 bucks ) ... fitted for convenience... The idea was to make a body that would fit stock necks ...  Just a proof of concept guitar ...  Further production will be in more standard guitar woods ...

Been searching for years for a truly Comfortable guitar , that had the "Look" ...  So many Ergo guitars  look strange (Ugly), and are really Not that comfortable , despite their ridiculous prices ..  Shocked
So many guitars follow the dogma that they should look like an LP or Strat ... neither of which I find very comfortable ...
So far , this shape addresses both problems ...  We'll see ... at the gig ...  Roll Eyes

Now I had a Crazy idea ( another one ) of painting the guitar in the same textured finish  (Road finish) I paint my cabs with ... Sorta' like a Tolex guitar ...  That might be cool ... I dunno'... never seen a textured guitar before ...

I'm gonna cast my vote for a lovely Burgundy Mist...
http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/burmismet.html

This color has been haunting me for a while now...first, we saw the original "The Blob" a couple weeks ago.
Them punk kids in their Ford coupe got me started:

Then,on a visit to a friend's house I 'found' an old Chevy down the street FOR SALE painted in..you guessed it...
Burgundy Mist.
so now...everywhere I look...I'm seeing..

Burgundy

Freakin'

Mist!

....just sayin'
