Yeah, it's coming together. Looks pretty cool. Very unusual anyway.
Futuristic even, when you think of how it's ergonomic and how it apparently would look for the future of guitar-playing. Tongue

Only not a fan of the pickguard to be honest. I think it's the color...
And the shape of it could be different too, but it fits.

D, actually that's an old pickguard off a Gibson flying V I fixed several years ago for a player in Florida...    Just modified it a bit and Bob's your ....   It seemed good enough for a prototype at the time ...   Roll Eyes

Got the neck on , but reached a stopping point (the wiring )  ....  Going out tomorrow for a concentric  V & T pot ...  Just to keep it simple ...   2 pots in one space ...   I have one like that on one of my Lobsters and  like the way it works ...   May even go with some mini toggle SPST switches for the pups instead of the usual Big switch ... on , off , both on , both off ... clean and simple  ...  Wink

This is an interesting project. I think its something all players can kind of relate to as far as guitars being comfortable or not. Everyone has different taste and technique when it comes to playing and even just holding a guitar. Personally if its not heavy as a brick on the body side and neck-light (think Les Paul) then I don't really feel comfortable with it standing up. It would be interesting to play a guitar that is built specifically for someones ergonomic needs (such as this one) and feel what other players think is comfortable.

It also makes you wonder about how truly 'comfortable' our favorite axes are...  Roll Eyes

SW, having played a good many guitars over the years ,  and especially having them strapped across my shoulder  for prolonged periods (gigs) ... some are just more comfortable than others ...    Standing and playing , the overall Weight and Balance become the main factors , as long as there's no sharp points to dig in your belly, ribs. or nether regions ..   Facepalm
Sitting is another story ...   sorta' has to fit the human body and not  be based on a fashionable design element based on musical instruments of two centuries ago ...  Shocked
Plus , everybody likes to play the guitar , seated, at a different angle ... problem with most guitars is they only "sit" one way ...  With the new one I can use the back notch to hold it much as one would hold a flying V, neck high ...  The center notch over the right leg aligns the guitar/neck at more of a 45 deg, angle , presenting a more typical (and comfortable) playing position...
The front notch , or "waist" , presents the guitar on a more flat position for those that prefer to play that way , much the same as a long strap position (standing) with the guitar slung low on the body ...

I'll try to get some pics of the various positions , once it gets finished (hopefully today ) ...

I like it GPW, its got a hint of a V guitar in it but at the same time it's got its own thing going. Keep it up and congrats!

Thanks Ani, ... You can see it's based (loosely) on the V , just much better seated .... so good in fact , I haven't felt the need to use a strap yet ...
