For that money you could land a used Melody Maker and put the right pickup into it as well.

This doesn't pi** me off anywhere as near as bad as the Jonas Brothers Melody Maker... As long as they continue to make the originals though...

This thread is dumb. That guitar has been out since before the thread where we were all talking about the Jonas Bros. Melody Maker.

You know guys, you have to stop and think about that
retail
price you're bashing. Yeah, $1600 sounds ludicrous, but I can have it shipped to my door for less than $920 without even shopping around. Considering how hard it is to find an American made guitar for less than a grand, this is not exactly Gibson's worst moment. You're not going to see me buy it, though.

i like the colour of it... not so much the heart inlays or really the position of those knobs... or really the shape, though it's not the worst shape ever, it's just another signature guitar that fans of Joan Jett everywhere will probably like to have...

By myself I not only build the guitars, I put them to the test!... and maybe try to sell them along the way

I've been saying Joan Jett deserves a signature guitar for years. Yes, it's too damned much money. But she's a cool, under-appreciated player and she's always played a Gibson.
