On an impulse, I stopped at Guitar Center today and played some Vox amps. I decided to buy one, because

1: I wanted something with an Aux input (the Behringer is pretty much dead and sounds like crap, and the B-52 doesn't roll like that) that can keep up with the B-52 for when I need to play a backing track

2: I wanted something that sounded good and I could play when the B-52 couldn't be cranked

3: I didn't own anything with VOX on it yet

I settled on (what I THOUGHT) was a Valvetronix 20. Aux in, lots of nice amp models, built in tuner, headphones, attenuator, all kinds of nifty crap. Sounded good too. I looked over at the VT 30, and noticed it was the same price - on sale. Hell yeah! I pick it up, pay, and go home.

I get home and pull it out of the box - and see that there's no Aux In or Tuner. I do some googling, and it turns out that the Vox amp I fell in love with was a Valvetronix PLUS, not just a straight Valvetronix.

 Facepalm

So now I have to go and exchange it in a few days. I hate when crap like that happens.

I did, but the issue is that I didn't see the "+" after "VT" on the other amp, so I didn't make the connection.

Oh well, Guitar Center is pretty cool about exchanges, I'll go swap it. I'm actually pretty impressed with the amp, it sounds really good, for what it is. Apparently they put a tube preamp in these things, which is cool.

Got the amp swapped out for the proper VT20+ today.

Solid amp. Good modeling. More options than you can shake a stick at. The first solid state low-watt amp I have really felt like I NEEDED the footswitch for. Good tone, and the attenuator is actually pretty good.

Would definitely recommend.

Bought the footswitch for it today. This brings the total price of this amp up to $230 for me. And it was worth every penny. I absolutely love this little amp. I'm gonna have to do some videos for it, it's a positively awesome little amp. The amp models are all spot on from my experience, the effects are fun to play with, and the fact that your saved channel banks remember your EQ settings and apply them automatically is AWESOME; with the footswitch, I have 8 completely different setups - amp model, effects, gain/volume, tone stack, everything - at the flick of a foot. Stellar.

The 8" speaker actually does a really good job in it, too, believe it or not.

Very cool little amps, these Valvetronix+ amps. Again, would definitely recommend.
