Pink from what I understand , 4 ohms is fine and gives the most wattage ... 20 W > 4 ohm cab , 12W > 8ohm cab ... according to the instruction sheet ... Tried both , both work fine !!!

I found this circuit for the 2030
It only does 10W and is only 'stable' at 8ohms
It sounds a lot like a frontman
valvestate etc.

Far too quiet for a band.
It pretty much does everthing else you want it to do.
pre-gain - tube synth (pedal) - saturation(19,22 divider) - tone stack - post gain (master vol)
It works well with pedals, but not the 505II

If you're looking to be thrifty and simple you can't beat this guy...

10w solid state, feed it with a 12v wall wart, smack whatever preamp you want on the front...

Is that a kit? It appears to be already wired up. Well, except, obviously you'd have to put it in a boxand put 1/4" jacks that go through the switch and through the circuit. But that's all relatively minor, I guess.

They sell it as a kit for $13 or assembled for a few bucks more. You could use it as a straight amplifier if you wired your input to in and your output straight to your speaker, but you'd have no controls at all.
FULL VOLUME!!
That thing is basically a power amp... Kind of like what GPW posted although with no volume control. One could be added quite easily however. Or you could add a small active tone stack to it as well, giving you more sound options. Then just run pedals into the front of it for FX.

I luv it for a practice amp!
I'm starting to realize it won't do what I want in a powered mixer.
The 'tone stack' in the opendrive schematic can
be adapted to use any op amp.
I'd use one as an input buffer, and one as an output buffer.
The tone stack is not really the best tone control, but it
is fine for guitar, once considered as state of the art,
and still cheap to build today.
