RGT, Thanks Dude !!!  That was a nice little write up !    I sure miss that magazine !     Ended up making 6... sold two to musicians here in town ...   Use the other 4 for gigs , each one has it's own Tone and I just grab the one that fits the venue.
Ps.   My friends still think they're "Strange" ...  Roll Eyes   I just Laugh !!!   ROTF

Bird , only one headstock version was made , the tuners were still in the back as shown...   The guitar got knocked over at a gig ,off the stage  Shocked ,  the headstock broke   (grrrrr) and I replaced the neck with a Maple  headless one ..this guitar is now the twin of the one shown in the article ... Still play both of them ... one stays in the house , one in the Studio .... always a Lobster handy eh ....  ROTF

The whole object of this guitar was ergonomics ...  It's short so doesn't get in the way , it's comfortable , and  so well balanced .... You can take a bow  (hands off ) and when you come up , the guitar is back in the same exact playing position .... Born of necessity , I really don't like neck heavy guitars ...

The new Left Wing , soon to be finished , will be even more ergonomic ... and with a conventional headstock and tuners ...  Grin

J , you know I started the LW project April  , a year ago ..  Shocked  Things have proceeded more/less  than slowly ...  Facepalm    Parts a ready !   The white pearl paint job will be done this week , and after I pick it up  and fix things together  (everything was pre drilled/ fitted in the mockup)   we'll have some pics ...
I'm really excited !!!   Always Fun to see a new guitar come together ...    Grin

The only thing I see getting in the way is the neck ... I have the Mity Mite test neck ready to go , but since then , Vinney's come up with a new Tele-ish' Maple neck  (bolt on) with SSP & an angled headstock ...    I WANT one !!!    Facepalm

Bron, the head stock did have string ferrules ...   tried eyelets first , but the smaller steel strings would cut right through them over a few months ..  Shocked

Last night I played the Maple Lobster ...    Heavy  (solid Maple )  but sounds so Good , and comfortable despite the weight ...
It's the bottom (natural Maple ) one on this page . http://www.glenweber.com/guitars/lobster-variations
