Fret leveling ... Got out my straightedge (a real straightedge , not just a ruler) and adjusted the Truss rod till the neck was
dead flat ... then took a break for some coffee and a smoke , and came back , checked it again , (yes it moved) and re-adjusted it again ...
Took a Sharpie and drew a line on the tops of all the frets ,where the string contacts ... Took my 12” radius caul (Stew Mac) , the same one I used to radius the fingerboard , and using 320 grit Black sandpaper (wet or dry)
lightly sanded the tops of the frets .... exposing a thin silver line at the top ... all the same ... Now there is
always one fret that is high

, and those are first determined to be seated properly ... and then dealt with individually with a fret file till they exactly match all the others ...
Another quick pass using the caul and 400 , then 600 sandpaper (same kind) , then 0000 steel wool (no pups around please) then a little polishing compound on a Dremel cloth wheel , really makes em’ shine ... When you string it up and play it , in short order you should see just a very thin “rub” line on the very top of the fret ...

Frets that are ground down flat (to level) need to be re-shaped with a fret file .. happens sometimes ...
