The reviews were generally very good. If the only problem is that the fine tuners don't do much, that shouldn't be a big issue if the setup is stable. I would just leave the nut unlocked, and use the headstock tuners. But then, I don't get crazy with trems.

To be honest i dont even use the tremolo system on my strats, so i doubt i'll be doing any major dive bombs with it! as long as i can intonate it from the bridge, and it doesnt fall to bits i'll be happy with it

turns out its just a bog standard floating bridge (called an act plus), nothing to write home about but its a decent enough guitar

youre right, its very well built. pickups are nothing special, but thats not a problem that cant be solved. it plays unbelievably well...its got a gorgeous chunky neck on it to boot
