Soon this is coming into my possession, for free. It used to belong to the husband of a very old friend of my mothers, he used to be a sound engineer and did live sound for bands all his life. He passed away a few years ago and it has been sitting in her flat for years, she knows about my musical endeavors and said i could have all his left over gear if i wanted it. There is this along with lots of leads and smaller stuff. Going to go get it some time soon. So exited, and grateful  Cheesy

Thats a 31 channel GEQ, Midiverb III (which im SUPER exited about) a DAT machine (no idea what to do with that) and some sort of power amp. Really exited to see how i can use all this stuff. Great to get some actual hardware, really looking forward to playing with the EQ, running tracks back through it  Cheesy

I used to LOVE those DAT units, but as GPW said they are pretty much obsolete now. Everything else seems like a nice score. What is that Metro unit anyway?

Cool Jamessssssss!

The DAT machine might just come in handy--if you can find tapes  Facepalm

I sold my DAT machine about six months ago (for practically othing, just to clean house) and shortly afterwards, realized that I probably have a few hundred hours of music that only exists on DAT.  Which means that--I'll probably never hear any of it again!  Facepalm  More 'lost' music for future generations to wonder about... ROTF

Jamesssss--where are you?  Maybe i'll dig out some old tapes and send 'em to you (they are reusable), it's not a bad idea to backup your music on hard copies, and DAT actually sounds better (to my ears) than most computer recordings (higher resolution maybe?)

I useds the DAT in my studio to mix to, sequence albums, and archive stuff back in the 90's.

Later on after I sold the studio i used the DAT machine to record live gigs and jams and rehearsals...but now you can do that with a device the size of a pack of cigarettes!  ROTF
