As you all probably know, I'm selling my Jackson SL2H. I want at least 1600 EUR for it (prices in EU stores are 2300 EUR for translucent color finishes). Now there is a guy that wants to trade his dual rectifier (the good ones => 2 channel version) for it and throw in 250 EUR extra.

I'm not using the guitar anymore, and think I'd get rid easier of the rectifier than I can get rid of the Jackson. That said I've always wanted a rectifier, so another option would be to sell my Orange Rockerverb 100.

What do you guys think?

Are you selling the Jackson because you need the dough?

If he's willing to trade the amp and throw in some cash, is the cash sufficient to hold you over?

If that's the case, then you can hang on to all your amps!   Rawk2 which sounds like a win-win to me.

I agree that you might have an easier time selling an amp than a guitar (any guitar) because you have some real good quality amps there
and iirc, the Orange is in great condition.  I'm betting the Boogie is in good shape because guys tend to take really good care of  hella nice amps like these.   There's a different mindset about amps  than guitars I think.  Guitars are 'personal'...but amps are loud

Guitars are a different sell due to things like "feel" and "tone" and personal tastes.
People may not like the neck, or the color, or the weight, or the hardware or whatever...and pass or try to bargain.

I mean, they do that with amps too, (if the amp is beat, or electronically faulty, needs tubes, whatever) but i think people tend to consider amps more of a 'hardware' issue and guitrars more of a 'personal' thing.

PS I hate to see that Jackson go--it's a beaut!

You've been trying to unload the Jackson for AGES!  I think it's a sign that it's meant to stay with you.  Wink

I really don't think you're going to have much use for the Boogie.  That's more of a collectors item than anything for you considering your Diezel and Orange should be able to do everything it does.  Besides, from this side of the pond it doesn't seem like a fair trade even with the extra cash.   The amp is only worth about 1000 EUR from my figures.

Ok, the deal went through. I am now 1 2001 Jackson SL2H porer (or how do you say that? More poor? :s)

But

1 insanely nice barking Mesa dual rectifier 2 channel '94 richer (more rich?), new tubes, full revision 6 months ago. + 300 EUR.

Richer/poorer makes sense.

Unlike you wanting to be rid of that Jackson. Tongue

i completely understand about the floyd.  otherwise though, it is a beautiful guitar.
i suspect the tones coming from the mesa will be at least as beautiful, once you figure out where you like the knobs.

I feel your pain there, hence me now owning only a Strat, an SG and an LP. String changing in ten minutes or less, courtesy of sensible bridges!
