No, no! I completely agree with you! The problem isn't putting the frets in. I have all those tools. The problem is the intonation of the frets. Putting them in the exact right spot and everything..

There is a formula for spacing the frets. The variable in it is scale length.

What are you going to do about the strain on the box? Neck through?
I was wondering about that. Hed almost have to do it that way.

I really wanted the neck to be attached to the lid. That way all I had to do was open the lid for maintenance. I already had a hole cut for the old neck.. I'll post pictures of the hole later. Any other ideas on neck placement?

Im worried that the tension will rip the box apart. Maybe you can glue in wooden blocks in the corners for extra support?

If I had a stud running through the entire bottom of the guitar and the neck was glued to that, then I could still open up the lid for maintenence if I kept all electronics on top. That's probably what I will do.
