I would think a wireless system would actually be detrimental, even if for no other reason than its more complicated. I also think some signal would be lost.
I would think (not an expert) that a buffered pedal should have no problem amplifying the signal to go a decent distance. Im assuming you have at least one of those.
If it doesnt work, try wireless.
