It's basically that same principle of a multi-effects pedal, accept built into a guitar. It does everything imaginable, but none of the sounds are as good as the solitary unit. For $1500, I would expect it sound perfect on all settings, and be offered as a lefty (though I would get the right-handed one on principle).

Not as expensive (and much better sounding/looking) as Gibson's 'Firebird X' (which seems a better choice for a fella named 'Bird'  Facepalmbut i didn't hear anything in the demo that made me want to go out and buy a new guitar here.

I think the Moog guitar is still first in this class...
