I think that would probably be nicer than a actual yellow stain anyways.

Looks nice, but I've got to ask something. Why is the art extended to inside the pickup cavities? Seems like a waste

Just guessing the artwork is painted on first, then routed, so to keep the lines 'straight' he didn´t stop drawing when he got to the picck up cavities. I mean its just painted there, not routed right?

Looks like a coffee table. Seriously though my Dad and I saw a really nice coffee-table-looking guitar at a shop down the street this past Saturday. He's in the market for an Epi Les Paul Custom or Standard to supplement his Gibson LP Studio. Something a bit more looksy with binding and a flamed top. Anyhow we saw some pretty nice looking guitars including an exact copy of my Roadstar II (the only other roadstar i've ever seen in person), the coffee table guitar and a really nice feeling Jackson Dinky that actually kind of looked like a coffee table too. It was fairly similar to your tele in color. ... Now i'm rambling. Sweet guitar. ... As long as it doesn't sound like a coffee table.

It's actually gone orange now the Tru oil has dried lol (?) and I actually quite like it, the flash on my camera helped it look like a coffee table lol. and yeah it wa the lazer doing it's thing but having no wood to cut so it left the slightly burnt patturn in the pup cavs. But hey I don't mind now gotta get the other bits on order! the pups are Neck Di Marzio Area T and Bridge Hotrails B so yea the guitar colour is a lot deeper now :/ I'll take a pic tomorrow when its not 2am and I can find om natural light shame it's not yellow and I put too much amber in but I can live with a orange-y colour natural-ish finish lol

The coolest finishes I ever put on a guitar were by complete accident and was nothing close to what I expected! My advice, "just go with it" Lol.

lol I gess once the hardware is on it will take a differnt look! It's also not so coffee table now its an orangish colour with undertones of yellow on the grain, looks odd lol you'd have to see it with real eyes.

What about a pickguard ...or did I miss that ? Clear one would be Cool and show off all the Art... or none at all ... Anything you put on it will compete with the artwork , so best downplay the other usual parts to make the Art stand out ... It is a Very COOL guitar body Dude !!! How’s the Tru-oil finish working for you ... Having just gone through a finish like this , I have to say , the more you work on it , the better it will look ... 0000 Steel wool is your best tool ... easy to get a really smooth finish if you take your time ... (keep the pups far away from any steel wool or fragments/ dust) ... After I do the steel wool bit , I vacuum the guitar thoroughly ... Clean becomes very Shiny ...
