My stains for my tele came

got the 2nd layer of tru-oil on, still feels a little rough though, but it was easy to apply and didn't stain or streak thanksGPW. suppose I could get some steel wool and put another layer on

The cavities have been insulated, and Ive "installed" the control plate and fed the grounding wire to where the bridge will go ( I desided on a modern/vintage full size one but there will be no pick guard, I'm putting on one of these



and thats for the kind words, it's looking like a guitar now lol well one without pups a neck and strings lol

Spice, I have 5 coats of Tru-oil on mine , steel wooled between every layer ...  The 0000 steel wool removes any dirt, dust  imperfections , and then you can go over it again with another LIGHT coat .... more rubbing with less oil ...  eventually , you get to the point where the finish is very shiny ... then you can wait a day or two and buff it  to an even higher shine ...  all depends how far you want to take it ...   It’s very possible to get it as shiny as a good Poly job ...   Not as difficult as it sounds and you don’t need any spray equipment , spray booth , respirators , or  stinky toxic thinners ...  Just keep rubbing ...
